New Scandi Drama The Legacy

Prepare yourself to be thrilled by yet another captivating Scandi Drama from Danish broadcasting network DR. Each Wednesday, Sky Arts airs "The Legacy", a drama of family secrets and lies.

What is The Legacy all about?

In the wake of the passing of world famous artist Veronika Grønnegaard, her four adult children are left to divide her estate in Svendborg on Funen. With this comes the unravelling of an upbringing which has left the siblings on very different paths. Follow their stories as they unfold and familiy secrets rise to the surface. The Legacy is produced by Danish broadcasting service DR, the masterminds behind hit shows such as The Killing and Borgen.

The stars of The Legacy

The Legacy introduces some familiar faces to British television viewers and film goers. The stars of the new Danish drama series include Trine Dyrholm (as Gro), who starred alongside Pierce Brosnan in "Love is all you need", Jesper Christensen (as Thomas) from Casino Royal & Quantum of Solace,  and Carsten Bjørnlund (as Frederik) who played one of the leading characters in the second series of "The Killing". 

The Legacy: On Location

Most of the scenes in the series are shot in Copenhagen and on the island of Funen. Among some of the locations are: Den Frie / Centre of Contemporary Art (Kunsthallen, Gro's workplace), STAY Copenhagen (Gro's flat), Faaborg Museum (Den Ny Kunstsamling / The New Art Collection), Thorvaldsen's Museum, and Jazzhouse
