Christmas starts on 19 November in central Copenhagen, when the Christmas lights are switched on. Santa and culture mayor Pia Allerslev will meet the copenhageners at Axeltorv and a large gospel choir will sing Christmas songs.

The fine Christmas lighting on the pedestrian street Strøget, Købmagergade Grønnegade, Ny Østergarde, Skoubogade, Pilestræde and Hovedvagtsgade will be lit at 16.00.

A Christmas parade with children and adults from Absolute Gospel Singers and Gospel Singers Junior will jointly arrange for the Christmas atmosphere in the streets of Copenhagen.

The parade starts at Amagertorv at 14.00 and the choir will walk through Købmagergade, Ny Østergarde, Grønnegade and Kronprinsensgade before finally ending up at Amager Torv.
