KUNSTEN - Museum of modern Art Aalborg
KUNSTEN in Aalborg houses a permanent collection of Danish and international art from around 1900 to the present. The impressive building was designed by renowned architects Elissa and Alvar Aalto, and Jean-Jacques Baruel. Furthermore, the museum recieved 4 stars in 2007 from Danske Attraktioner (Danish Attractions). The museum contains special exhibitions, a sculpture park, an amphitheatre, concerts and seminars and films.
The audience at KUNSTEN can get the experience of quality no matter if they visit the exhibitions, the shop or the café. For this reason, KUNSTEN’s café has allied with the popular chef Mikael Kopp Christensen who earlier has been head chef on different famous restaurants in Denmark.
The result is a menu where quality ingredients from the region are brought into focus, and the audience can enjoy both air-dried ham, cold-smoked salmon, mushroom soup, and a selection of regional cheeses, as well as sweets - home-baked cakes, coconut macaroons, marzipan ring cake, and handmade chocolates. Not only can the paying customers of the museum enjoy the new selection of the café; the admission to the café is free.
Conducted tours can be arranged when contacting the Museum's office.
