Before the start of the season many a sailor becomes impatient to launch their ships which rises the spirits to incredible heights.

It is a festive day when the big ships at the Viking Ship Museum are prepared and launched by the boat guilds that maintain and sail the ships.

The entire area oozes high spirits and it is extremely fascinating to watch the preparations. Masts are raised, cordage and sails are rigged, and everyone is busy preparing the ships for the launching.
