The last whole weekend in June each year, there is a huge Viking market at Lindholm Høje – The Nordic Countries’ largest Viking burial site. The 100 members of the Viking Group Lindholm Høje will make sure that the Viking city at Lindholm Høje will rise again with plenty of life and activities. 

The market area will be filled with activities and festive features and you will find two show areas with activities at the same time. One of the audience’s favourites is the battle show and the falconer shows. Furthermore, there will be a show with Icelandic horses, musicians together with craftsmen in action. For this vitalise version of the Viking age, freshly baked flat-bread with juicy lamb belongs together with beer and mead.

The Vikings settle and established the Viking city on a hill where the Limfjord is smallest. During the Viking market, you will be able to get an idea how the Vikings lived, worked and partied. So bring your whole family back to the Viking age, just for a short while.

For this year’s Viking Market, you can experience good craftsmen from all over the Nordic Countries who will show their works and tell their stories. Moreover, you will at the market place find a battle show, horse show and many other festive activities - all those aim is to tell stories about the Viking age. Museum director Lars Nørbach and museum inspector Elisabeth B. Carlsen will also tells stories about the Viking age and the Viking age’s worriers.
