Winter holiday at the Danish Technical Museum
In the winter holiday the Danish Technical Museum has lots of fun activities for the whole family to play and learn. Apart from the permanent exhibition and the current ”I love my bicycle so” with all sorts of bikes, you can experience:
Shrovetide in the old fire station
Sunday 10 February at 11am and 2pm children from 3 to 12 can show up in fancy costumes and take part in the Danish Shrovetide custom of tilting at a barrel. Price for the best “technical” or “ordinary”costume. Collect a free ticket at the museum for this event before 7.2. or phone for booking 4922 2611.
Ice skating
Take a turn on the artificial ice skating rink, you can rent ice hockey skates at the museum.
Cast your own tin soldier
In the old workshop from 1898 you can make your very own tin soldier and see it emerge from the casting mould. Afterwards you can buy it and paint it. From 11.2. - 15.2. every day at 10.30 - 11.30am and 1.30 - 3pm.
The cult film Bjergkøbing Grand Prix
Saturday 16 February at 2pm you can see the cult film amongst puppet films and animated cartoons, "Bjergkøbing Grand Prix". Before the show the sound engineer, Jacob Trier, will talk about the making of the film and the many creative ideas and solutions.
NB! Ticket reservation necessary, phone +45 4922 2611 or collect your ticket at the museum no later than Thursday 14 February. Admission free when museum entrance is paid. Adults DDK 65, seniors DKK 60, children under 18 free.
