Christmas market at Børglum Abbey

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! And isn’t it wonderful? In the last two weekends in November and the first two weekends in December in 2023, the Family Rottbøll opens their doors to the amazing Christmas Market at Børglum Abbey.

Børglum Kloster is looking forward to seeing you all when they invite you to the Christmas market for 4 weekends plus a single evening in 2023.

Come along and experience Børglum Kloster's private Christmas-decorated royal hall and living rooms, which are only opened to visitors this once a year. It is your only chance to visit the private halls of the Abbey. Kongesalen (The king's hall), The Summer Room and other private rooms will be showered in the shimmering lights of the many candles and the marvelous decorations.

Apart from this, there will be plenty of music and stalls, and when you feet get sore you can visit Café Vognporten and try out their delicious Christmas menu. If you are feeling just a bit peckish, you can try out the homemade gløgg (a traditional Scandinavian Christmas punch) and Norwegian sveler served from the “old manor kitchen” (Herregårds Køkkenet).

Do not miss out on the abbeys evening event

Børglum Kloster also holds an extra open house in the evening, where quests of the monastery can experience Børglum monastery's private rooms, the King's Hall and the Christmas market after dark. The evening of the Christmas market, Tuesday 28 November from 4 to 8 p.m., will end with a large Christmas fireworks display at 6 p.m. 20.00.
