The Marguerite Route: Funen

Funen is known as the garden isle of Denmark. The island is characterized by its gently rolling hills, orchards, hedgerows and thatched, half-timbered farmhouses. The city of Odense, the largest city on Funen, is the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen, one of Denmark’s most loved authors. The South Funen Archipelago is a great place to explore, with islands of many sizes and beautiful straits, bays and fjords. Small bridges and ferry routes link you to the islands. Experience a bygone era by taking a tour along the Marguerite route past the renaissance castles and the idyllic landscape of Funen.
