Experience Magical Skagen in Blue September

On the most northerly tip of Denmark lies the picturesque fishing town of Skagen. The coastal waters that surround this area create a quality of light that has long attracted artists to what's known locally as the ‘Land of Light’.

In September the twilight hour between night and day takes on a particularly magical blue light as the sea and sky seem to merge together and light up the colours of nature in a unique way. This has led to the celebration of a cultural festival called “Blue September”. During this month there will be a variety of artistic and cultural events, workshops and experiences to celebrate this natural phenomenon.

These include:
• Guided nature tours during the twilight hour
• A Blue Kite Festival from 28th–29th September,
• Blues Music at the Color Hotel Skagen on 12th-14th and 19th-21st September
• The Blue Hour art exhibition at Skagen Museum from 6th September

Throughout the town, shops will be decorated with festive blue decorations to truly bring the spirit of Blue September alive.

For more information on the events during September, visit Skagen.
