Samsø Museum

Samsø Museum is an exciting cultural offer on Samsø. Samsø Museum is a joint name for a variety of activities throughout the island that gets you to understand the relationship between Samsø’s landscape, culture and people of the past, present and future.

The Welcome Centre in the old dairy in Tranebjerg is the center of Samsø Museum.
Here visitors can get a cultural introduction to the island as well as information about Samsø Museum’s many attractions, activities and events.

Here is also the only HistoryUniverse for children in Denmark, where children through imaginative creative tales will want to try out the historical experiments.

Near the Welcome Centre you find Samsø Museumsgård with 1850 interior, prehistoric exhibition, historical museum garden and many exciting events throughout the summer.

An island full of experiences

Take a trip around the island and discover Samsø Museum’s many places to visit. From Nordby post office and library in the 1930s the style and the old Beyergården in Mårup in the Northern part of the island to Vesborg Fyr in the south, where the exhibition in the small Gun Powder House tells about the island’s royal history in the Middle Ages.

In Langemark you can experience the sparks from the blacksmith’s anvil or head to the smallholding Fredensdal. Here you can say hi to black and white piglets, lively goat kids, chickens, calves and kitties that makes.
